Interests
I love to cook, read, play with my dog and travel (geez, this is sounding like a personal ad).

I like baseball (the Cubs, even though I live in St. Louis) and football (GO PACK!). I like interesting weather--blizzards, thunderstorms, and perfect 76 degree afternoons on my front porch.

I love finding pants that fit.

I love when I know all my kids are home safe so I can finally fall sound asleep (on the flip side, I hate late night phone calls.)

I love settling in with my husband, a glass of wine for each of us, and knowing we have some time just to talk and share our days with each other.

Bio Notes

I grew up moving across the country every four years or so. I was born in Whittier, California, then traveled to Northbrook, IL (explains my baseball allegiance), Upper Saddle River, NJ (explains my passion for Springsteen), back to Northbrook, then to Dunwoody, GA (where I learned to appreciate the cadence of my favorite writers). Finally, I landed in Madison, WI for college and discovered home.

I now live in St. Louis, MO with my husband, our five kids, a really sweet (but very dumb) golden retriever and a diabetic cat.

Over the years I have worked as a waitress, grocery checker, copy center clerk, deli clerk, sales clerk, substitute teacher, and English teacher.

Favorites

Books
This is an ever evolving list, but some of the books I'd need on a desert island include To Kill a Mockingbird, The Sound and the Fury, The Things They Carried, The Grapes of Wrath, and Crossing to Safety.

Music
Well, I'd start with Bruce Springsteen. "Thunder Road" is one of the most perfect songs ever written, and one of his lesser know songs, "Book of Dreams" was the first song my husband and I danced to at our wedding last summer. Then, Sinatra.

Movies
Field of Dreams, High Noon, Out of Africa, To Kill a Mockingbird, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, The Man in the Moon, Ed's Next Move, Next Stop Wonderland, It's a Wonderful Life
